“We gonna take it to the moon, take it to the staaaars
How many people you know can take it this faaaaar?
I’m Superchaaaaarged, we about to take this whole thing to Mars”
– Jay-Z & Kanye West ft. Beyonce – Lift Off, Watch the Throne
Yeezy just took delivery of his brand new Tesla.
He started off by tweeting “I really love my Tesla. I’m in the future. Thank you Elon.” This is the usual reaction when taking delivery of a Tesla. They are nothing like what you would expect. Instant torque is delivered as soon as you put your foot down, with no sound because there is no engine. It is also one of few cars – if not the only one – that gets better over time with software updates.

When asked who his biggest inspiration was at SXSW this year, Elon Musk replied with “Well, Kanye West, obviously”. You may assume this was a sarcastic and a jokey sort of response, but let’s look into this for a minute.
Elon has previously displayed his inspiration from Kanye, and it was he who wrote the piece on Kanye when he was featured on the cover of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people back in 2015.
Musk wrote: “Kanye West would be the first person to tell you he belongs on this list. The dude doesn’t believe in false modesty, and he shouldn’t. Kanye’s belief in himself and his incredible tenacity — he performed his first single with his jaw wired shut — got him to where he is today. And he fought for his place in the cultural pantheon with a purpose.”
In his debut album, over a decade ago, Kanye issued what amounted to a social critique and a call to arms (with a beat): “We rappers is role models: we rap, we don’t think.” But Kanye does think. Constantly. About everything. And he wants everybody else to do the same: to engage, question, push boundaries. Now that he’s a pop-culture juggernaut, he has the platform to achieve just that. He’s not afraid of being judged or ridiculed in the process. Kanye’s been playing the long game all along, and we’re only just beginning to see why.”
The respect and admiration Musk has for Kanye cannot be disputed, and it goes both ways.
Tesla’s cars are fully electric. As a result there are no emissions. No doubt you would need to charge the car which means you are using electricity therefore using fossil fuels in some form. However the fossil fuels used to deliver 300 miles worth of charge to a Tesla are significantly less than the next best car with an IC engine. Man like Yeezy seems to be aware of this too.
I heard these are really good for the environment 🙏

When Tesla first introduced their vehicles onto the market, they announced that they will be building a network of “superchargers” designed to provide owners free fast charging at any of the locations. Kanye then tweeted “I’m superchaaaaaarged, Bout to take this whole thing to mars”. This is in fact a bar from the 2011 album Watch the Throne. Tesla’s Model S was introduced a year later along with the supercharger network.

Being supercharged generally refers to having and extra supply of energy or power, and some accomplishments and experiences can make you feel so supercharged, that you feel like you could take yourself to Mars.
February 6th 2018, was the day SpaceX launched Elon Musk’s personal Tesla Roadster towards Mars on the debut flight of their biggest rocket – the Falcon Heavy. Did Jay-Z, Kanye and Beyonce know that less than a decade later something supercharged was going to be taken to Mars?
The best lyrics in music are the ones that seem to come true at some point in the future. Literature of all kinds is studied in schools all over the world but I have never known anyone to study hip-hop lyrics and understand the meanings behind them. There comes a point for some people where they feel like they could reach the moon, the stars, or Mars.
Some literally do.
It’s good to understand that most of these bars are from personal experiences, where the artist may have had a rough upbringing but ultimately ended up being capable of doing anything.
